RideCo is seeking a highly experienced Low Voltage Field Technician / Hardware Implementation Specialist based in New York City to support complex transit and mobility deployments across North America. This role requires a self-directed professional who can execute hands-on field work while also owning administrative and operational responsibilities related to hardware programs.

The ideal candidate can install and troubleshoot hardware in the field, manage deployments remotely, coordinate with vendors and clients, and support internal teams without requiring constant oversight.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

Field Installation & Technical Support:

  • Perform low voltage hardware installations in vehicles and facilities, including tablets, modems, GPS units, cameras, and related peripherals
  • Troubleshoot power, wiring, connectivity, mounting, and configuration issues on-site and remotely
  • Validate installations against RideCo standards, safety requirements, and client specifications

Hardware Administration & Program Ownership:

  • Manage hardware provisioning, staging, kitting, and asset tracking
  • Administer and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
  • Support remote service ticket intake, triage, troubleshooting, and resolution
  • Maintain accurate documentation for assets, configurations, and deployments

Vendor, Sales & Stakeholder Support:

  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships, including coordination, issue resolution, and follow-ups
  • Support Sales and Solutions teams by assisting with hardware quoting, configurations, and technical feasibility reviews
  • Coordinate logistics, lead times, and deployment readiness with vendors and internal stakeholders

Project Leadership & Documentation:

  • Lead installation efforts independently without step-by-step direction
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and communicate status updates proactively
  • Create and maintain SOPs, installation guides, and process documentation
  • Provide in-person and remote training or guidance to clients and partners as needed
  • Other duties/projects as assigned 

Travel & Onsite Engagement:

  • Travel to client sites for installations, audits, troubleshooting, and training
  • Support multi-day deployments and time-sensitive go-live events

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in low voltage field installations or mobile hardware deployments
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, grounding, and cable management
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues independently
  • Comfortable working in transit, fleet, or field environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with transit, fleet, or mobility technology deployments
  • Experience managing MDM platforms and large device fleets
  • Familiarity with service ticketing systems and remote support workflows
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Current or past MECP (Mobile Electronic Certified Professional) Certificate is considered an asset
